HYPER-LITE SEALED SWITCH MODULES

2 & 3 Switches have been discontinued
  • Wires are on the back
  • Tape on bottom
  • 1 switch 1.5" W x .75" H x .75" L

"Ok, that's nice but I need a switch that can handle more amperage. Got anything that'll work?"

Use a relay such as Grainger #5Z550 "Power Relay, 30 Amp, Single Pole, Single Throw, Normally Open, 12 Volt DC". Your local electronics or automotive parts store should have similar relays in stock. Bosch is a commonly stocked brand.

This way you are running only control amperage thru the switch (usually about 1 amp). You also can use smaller wire to the switch. Purchase a relay that is rated higher than the actual amperage you will need. For example a pair of 110 watt auxiliary lights will draw about 18 amps total so you need at least a 20 amp relay, etc.
