FJR 1300 Rider Backrest Installation You need good mechanical skills to install this product as a little "tweaking" may be required. 1. Remove rider and passenger seat. 2. Remove stock rack (5 bolt location's). 3. Install new backrest bracket into backrest saddle plate. 4. Install backrest assembly on bike using the front 2 rack bolt holes as location points. 5. Reinstall stock rack with backrest saddle plate underneath rack. 6. Replace the (2) 8mm x 30mm with 8mm x 40mm (furnished). 7. Tighten bolts making sure the (2) saddle plate holes align with the seat holes on the bike. 8. Finish tightening all stock rack bolts. 9. Slide backrest bracket forward in saddle plate enough to reinstall passenger seat. 10. Slide backrest bracket to the rear till alignment hole in front (aligns with hole in bike). 11. Install 8/32" x 5/8" flat head screw and self locking nut. 12. Remove staples along rear of rider seat. 13. Pull back cover to expose seat latch. 14. Drill out the 2 pop rivets and remove latch. 15. Slide the 1/8" seat spacer underneath latch and reinstall using the 2 - 10/32" x 3/4" flat head screws with self locking nuts. (Nuts face up). 16. Replace staples in rear of seat. 17. Reinstall rider seat. 18. Install rider backrest pad using (4) ¼-20"x1" button head screws. We Use For Credit Card Orders
