FJR 1300 Passenger Backrest Installation

1. Remove Rider and Passenger Seats.
2. Remove the 4 allen bolts 8mm x 30mm and (1) 8mm button head allen or phillips holding rear rack to fairing.
3. Remove stock rack.
4. Attach new backrest to new rack using (2) 1/4-20 x 5/8" flat head allens. (Backrest mounts underneath rack.)
5. Mount new rack brackets in square fairing cut-outs using (2) 8mm x 30mm allen bolts (stock). Use stock bushings from stock rack to shorten bolt length (if preferred). Brackets should face the rear with bracket cut-outs to the inside.
6. Loosely tighten. Set rack on brackets with 3/4" long bushing under rack at rear mounting point.
7. Attach (2) front brackets using 1/4-20 x 3/4" flat head allen's and self locking nuts.
8. Attach rear mounting point with 8mm x 50mm button head allen. ( screw goes thru rack, backrest, and bushing)
9. Finish tightening all 5 mounting points. Install backrest pad with (4) 1/4-20 x 1" allens. (Be careful not to cross thread tee nuts.)
10. Backrest angle can be changed a little by lengthening or shortening the bushing. (If desired)
